On This Day over the last few years, Celtic have played a few games on Halloween. The two in particular that we will look at were in the 9IAR run. The first features Brendan Rodgers’ side traveling to the City of Discovery to face Dundee.

Jim McIntyre had recently taken over as the boss at Dens Park but he watched on helpless to the onslaught at the hands of the Celts. There were 20 shots on target as Celtic were rampant going forward. Goals from Rogic (20′ minutes), Sinclair (33′ minutes pen), Forrest (38′ minutes), Edouard (45’+2 minutes), Christie (48′ minutes) sealed the three points Celtic as they cut the lead of league leaders Hearts to just four points.

Moving on to 2015, Ronny Deila’s Celtic hosted Aberdeen. Derek McInnes’ side were the nearest contenders and the action on Halloween would be an indicator of whether the Dons would be able to push Celtic across the course of the campaign.

Leigh Griffiths fired Celtic ahead after an incredible header from an inch-perfect cross from Kieran Tierney. Griffiths then made it 2-0 after Kris Commons was halved in the penalty area. It was 3-0 after Tom Rogic and James Forrest linked up and left Celtic with all three points in the bag. A late Adam Rooney goal could not dampen the spirits around Paradise after an impressive win.
