Former Celtic hero Chris Sutton has been confirmed as the latest guest for Open Goal. The 48-year-old is one of the country’s best pundits and is fondly remembered for his six-year spell in Glasgow’s East End. The announcement comes after the award-winning podcast took to the stage at the SSE Hydro at the weekend with a host of ex-Celts in attendance, namely Charlie Mulgrew and Frank McAvennie.

Sutton made a brief cameo and now, he has been confirmed for an interview at long last. Sutton’s dry wit and stinging comments will no doubt make him an excellent guest for the show.

Sutton is revered by Celtic fans for his time at the club under Martin O’Neil, where he enjoyed prolific relationships with John Hartson and Henrik Larsson. Since swapping the pitch for the studios and gantries around the UK, Sutton is never far from controversy often delivering fairly accurate assessments of clubs, managers and players that are misfiring. Sutton will no doubt have a number of excellent stories from his time at Celtic.

This one is certainly not to be missed.
