Opinion – Celtic’s Adidas partnership has been a bit underwhelming

Celtic and Adidas, a bit underwhelming? matters not a jot. Income is the main priority. There was understandable excitement when Adidas signed a deal to manufacture the Celtic kits back in 2020. It is also believed to the biggest kit deal in Scottish football history.

Personally Adidas is my choice of sportswear and the news that they were teaming up with Celtic was music to my ears, as it was for a lot of supporters.

I think it’s fair to say the strips that have been produced since are a bit underwhelming, especially the home ones, apart from the first one under the new deal which was quite decent. A number of away strips have also been quite impressive, but overall I’d say under Adidas it’s been an average 6/10.

The same can’t be said of their training gear though, as that has been second to none. Absolute class in my opinion. More of the same will do me.

Adidas is a big name and a class act in sports wear and they still have two years of producing Celtic kits, and despite a few underwhelming ones it’s been ok on a whole. But at the end of the day both Adidas and Celtic won’t care a jot about supporter criticism as both have been coining it in through high sales and that’s all that matters.

They have to market the under 25 age group i guess when it comes to jerseys but if rumours are true then we’re bringing out to hoop tops this season im assuming nearer to Christmas for second and its to be more traditional hoop top that should appeal to all ages.

I have been disappointed in both Celtic and Adidas with their blatant attempt to squeeze every penny out of the Celtic support. Last season we seen a new training kit every couple of months and not to forget the 4th kit that was never worn competitively.
I expect more of tge same this year, with already 2 different training ranges already in use and a possible 2nd special home kit, like they did with Scotland this year.
With regards to Adidas and the kit design, when will they realise that having a green away/3rd kit is pointless, because 99% of the times they Celtic issues a green kit, we can never use it in a match.
