Celtic haven’t started the season in good form, however, our points return isn’t bad. We’ve lost one game and drawn two. Having won nine games, our points tally is decent and it is only the better form of the Rangers which has caused any gap at the top of the table – nine points at present, whilst we have two games in hand.
The Hoops looked like we had turned a corner with a good performance in Lille and then a much needed win in the Scottish Cup semi final against Aberdeen. However, it was a false dawn as we were embarrassed by Sparta Prague.
Be that as it may, we went into the international break after a 4-1 victory at Fir Park. During the break, Shane Duffy played well against Wales, the Scotland Bhoys should be confident after each playing a big part in qualifying for a major tournament for the first time in 22 years, and we’ve had a fortnight break from club football.
Hibs away is a tough fixture and a must win. I’m not saying all is suddenly fine and dandy at Celtic, but I cannot understand the negativity and media reports of how Lennon needs to turn it around. An emphatic victory at Motherwell produced a better result and performance. It remains to be seen if we can keep it up. Celtic have a real chance to kick on if we can negotiate this tough fixture .Let’s not be negative before a ball has been kicked.
