Brendan Rodgers has not even been in the Celtic hot seat a month, yet there are supporters who are already being critical of his dealings or lack of dealings in the transfer market.

I think it’s more than unfair to expect an avalanche of signings in such a short space of time. The Celtic manager will have players in mind that he wants at the club make no mistake, but these things take time.

He’s only been in the door a matter of minutes, he has to run the rule over the squad he has at his disposal and get to know their strengths and weaknesses. He can’t do everything at once. Cut him some slack.

Currently Brendan is assessing the defensive situation and is making moves to bring in a centre back, that’s progress. One or two more are likely to follow and will be added to new faces such as Marco Tilio, Odin Thiago Holm, Yang Hyun-Jun and Kwon Hyeok- kyu.

All those new faces and possibly more alongside a treble winning squad is progress. Brendan knows what he’s doing and is doing his best. It will slowly come together and we will be ready for the start of the new season, be very sure of that.
