Pep Guardiola’s RB Leipzig praise after Celtic’s Champions League rivals draw with Man City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola gave a brilliant interview in which he sarcastically probed the BT Sport presenter after the draw against Celtic’s Champions League group rivals RB Leipzig. The Germans conceded in the first half but restored parity in the second half which takes the tie back to Manchester with the score level.

Guardiola did not seem impressed with the arrogance of the English media, suggesting that the game would not be easy on the basis of Leipzig’s form and the quality of their team.

It is a case of what might have been for Celtic in Europe last year. The first sixty minutes in most games saw the Scottish Champions play with freedom, and create chances but ultimately could not score. Real Madrid showed their class in the 5-2 away win at Anfield on Tuesday night as Carlo Ancelotti’s team came from two goals behind to claim a vital win that all but puts them into the Quarter Finals.

Ultimately, Celtic are not playing European football at this stage due to the fact that Leipzig did not sack their manager until after they were thrashed by Shaktar Donestk. This meant that when they faced Celtic, they were back to their fierced best and the Ukrainian side had recorded three crucial points.
