This season will never be forgotten whatever the outcome for a world of reasons. Focusing purely on the game here without disrespecting or belittling the effects this pandemic has had upon the population of the world – on return from the winter break we were sensational once more and ran away with the title.

Nine-in-a-Row has all but been achieved as we knew it would, though as yet without the fanfare. You have to feel for the squad, staff and us the supporters and hope those celebrations are in the post (focusing purely on us and the game). Nine was never the target though. It was always TEN.

I will also remember this league season as a watershed when it came to recruitment. The club went to a level in the market not seen for two decades, both in spending and quality loanee players. Even now media reports from abroad have Celtic inquiring and offering big money for targets. We appeared to have stepped it up in the market. My hope is that we continue in that vein and this is where Peter Lawwell comes in.

The Ten season may well see a 14 club Premiership, not something that worries me, indeed I welcome it. I would actually prefer 16, it will introduce different venues to the squad and various tactical tweaks.

Peter Lawwell as we all know is the highest paid CEO in British football, incredibly. He will have to deliver the Ten. I am far from his biggest fan but I will admit I am glad he is with us at this time. Peter’s going to have to work hard and he’s paid more than anyone to deliver. We are going to lose players of course, Elyounoussi for one. We have great players on the sidelines and reserves though too. I’m certain Bayo will come good, Klimala, Soro and I still have hope for Shved. That’s about €15 million worth of talent right there. None can barely get a look in the starting XI have been so dominant.

This next season all eyes will be on Peter like never before, I see it as his toughest test yet. I expect him to pass it though Celtic also have to be careful when spending now as other clubs know we have the cash, £9 or £10 million for the Trabzonspor striker I read. Clubs like that and Hibs will try to play on our strengths. Could this be a chance for Peter to perhaps redeem himself somewhat in many of the supports eyes?

And here’s some feedback…

Like you said, time for him to really earn his money. My personal opinion is that we don’t need to spend big if at all for next season. The risk is too great just now to overspend. Many clubs will cut their cloth accordingly but we shall still be the dominant force at home. ALL European clubs will also suffer.

I feel we are in a great position to move forward when this pandemic subsides. I know one club in particular who may be a casualty of their own by hanging on to our coat tails.

Personally see this as a watershed moment, This will be a buyer’s market forget crazy money transfer fees it’s not going to happen in the current climate.

The 30th of June for example literally hundreds of players are out of contract up and down the country so there will be a glut of talent to choose from. This is were Celtic with cash reserves can make a killing without having to spend big. Other certain clubs are running on fumes, every confidence for TEN.

I for one will be ignoring all the Celtic “in for” crap that will run and run until the footie starts back with fans at the stadium, anyone that seriously thinks we will spend on players without the chance to play them before that doesn’t know our Peter.
Imho that is.

I think there is far too much water still to go under the bridge yet before any big decision regarding money, contracts or transfers can be made. I hope Peter is working hard right now because these are turbulent times and those big decisions will have to be made. I think it is a waiting game just now with every finger on a pulse or a trigger.
