Barry Coffey has joined Cork City FC on loan until the end of the season. The 20-year-old has a year remaining on his deal with Celtic but Ange Postecoglou has decided that the player will best progress playing in Ireland, as opposed to playing with Celtic B in the Lowland League.

The League of Ireland outfit will give Coffey the opportunity to kick on after a loan to Cliftonville in the second half of last year. The Ireland U19 is yet to make his debut for Celtic but loan opportunities will help prove to Ange Postecoglou that he has a future at the club.
