Photo: Former Celtic star loving retirement in Monday update

Former Celtic midfielder Aaron Mooy is clearly loving life post-retirement. The 33-year-old announced in the summer that he would be retiring from the game and his wife shared a heartwarming post about what it would mean for them and their young family. Now, having returned to Australia, Mooy was living the high life.

In a picture uploaded on Instagram, Mooy can be seen in the swimming pool of his Australian home enjoying the spring sunshine.

Mooy spent a wildly successful season, having been signed as a free agent by Ange Postecoglou in the summer of 2022. In 42 appearances, Mooy scored 7 times and assisted on 11 occasions as Celtic swept to a Treble last season.

It is rumored that a back injury played a part in the decision of Mooy to call it a day. Best of luck to Aaron as he enjoys his retirement.

  1. Respectfully, I don’t really give him a second thought. Sure, he did a good job with us for the ten minutes he was with us, but that about sums it up for me. Having him was similar to having a short time loan player. He did a job for sure, but if we’re being honest, we’d have won the treble without him too.
I wish him well for sure, but he won’t exactly go down as a great or a legend or anything in those categories.
