Photo: Green Brigade’s latest display of support for Palestine

The Green Brigade showed support for Palestine at the beginning of this afternoon’s Cinch Premiership clash against Kilmarnock. The supporters led a rendition of ‘Grace’ while unfurling banners aimed at raising awareness of what is going on in Gaza.

The fact that there is such a large support for the Palestinian people within the Celtic support has made things difficult for Israeli winger Liel Abada. Despite being welcomed back from injury and supported by the club, the player is clearly struggling with the attention from back home as a result of the conflict.

Celtic will hopefully win the game this afternoon and look to extend their lead at the top of the table.

  1. Shameful chasing away one of our players. If Palestine flag was red white and blue they wouldn’t be waving it. What about Ukraine war, Sudan war?

    • Who is chasing away one of our players ? It certainly isn’t the fans , we gave him the biggest cheer ithe night he came back from injury when he came on as a sub . Are you one of those PC idiots or just someone trying to get their 5 minutes of fame ?

    • Happy to discuss the Ukranian & Sudanese situation, but you don’t care about their plight. Whataboutery, has nothing to do with the matter at hand. We supported Abada, but a section of our fans are not going to abandon our humanity & principles because there’s a live-streamed genocide happening, aided & abetted – militarily, politically & diplomatically by the British government. Shame on you. The feelings of one footballer are insignificant while over 12,000 children have been slaughtered in plain sight, Palestinian children in Gaza face a man-made famine & pestilence, 19,000 children have been orphaned, 2 million people displaced & homeless, thousands of children maimed – their limbs amputated without anaesthesia, children dying of heart attacks through sheer terror, dying under rubble through terminal dehydration, women having caesareans without anaesthesia, morphine or painkillers, indiscriminate ‘dumb’ bombs raining down on civilians with no means of defending themselves, torture, ritual humiliation while the perpetrators gleefully post their crimes on social media…The savagery is pure evil & sadism. How much Palestinian blood has to flow before people like you care & rediscover their humanity? Not in my name…Seek help.
