Osaze Urhoghide signed for Celtic today as the promising 20-year-old completed a switch from Sheffield Wednesday. The versatile defender penned a four year deal with the Hoops, becoming Ange Postecoglou’s first signing.

The player has taken to Twitter to express his delight at the move, with a photo of him in the Hoops.

The defender will join with his ex-Wednesday teammate Liam Shaw, who joined on pre-contract earlier this summer. Urhoghide’s interview as a Celtic player was infectious and hopefully he can hit the ground running. The player will likely be a bit-part player for the start of the campaign as he looks to build himself into a first team regular under Postecoglou.

Earlier today, Celtic confirmed that 30-year-old striker Leigh Griffiths had agreed a one-year extension at the club.
