Matt O’Riley has been pictured on a flight to complete his £30m move from Celtic. The 23-year-old has been the subject of intense speculation from clubs this summer but the Premier League side emerged as the favourites to sign the Dane.
O’Riley from MK Dons in January 2022 in a deal worth £1.5m. In 124 appearances, O’Riley scored 27 goals and assisted on 35 occasions, winning six trophies. In the last campaign under Brendan Rodgers, O’Riley stole the show as he won Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year.
The player leaves Celtic having been an excellent servant in his two and a half years at the club. It was clear that the player was humbled and honoured to play for Celtic and the quality that he exuded on and off the pitch was a testament to him.
Good luck to Matt in England, he will smash it.
