Today’s photo of the day shows two very special figures in Celtic history. Billy McNeill was the club’s greatest ever captain and Pat Crerand was an outstanding talent, who went on to win the European Cup at Manchester United.

It was Celtic and Manchester United who met on 1 June 1993 at Paradise, in a game to bid farewell the famous terracing that was the Jungle. The match was played between Celtic’s 1967 Lisbon Lions side and Manchester United’s European Cup winning team of 1968.

A crowd of over 19,000 turned up, braving the pouring rain. Their reward was seeing Jinky score an incredible lob.
