Today’s photo of the day feature takes you back to the 1984 Scottish Cup Final when Celtic lost 2-1 to a strong Aberdeen side that featured Gordon Strachan in midfield.

Not a fondly remembered occasion, the image we have chosen stands out for the rare use of pyrotechnics in those days. Indeed, we are accustomed to seeing flares and smoke bombs set off by the Bhoys and Green Brigade Ultras these days, but they had been present at this final, whilst a flare was also set off a year later at the 1985 Cup Final too!
