Today’s photo of the day takes readers back to the final league match of the famous 1987/88 Centenary season. Celtic had already been crowned champions and they faced Dunfermline at Paradise, whose own fate had been sealed too. Indeed, Jim Leishman’s team had been relegated to the Second Division.
A goal from Chris Morris gave Celtic a 1-0 win to build momentum ahead of the Scottish Cup Final, before a trophy presentation was made. Dunfermline had brought a large travelling support and their fans unveiled this sporting banner after the match.
