Photo Of The Day: That Duberry Decision At St Johnstone

Today’s photo of the day winds the clock back more than a decade to April 2011, on an occasion when Celtic faced St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park –  just as they will tomorrow afternoon.

During the match, Michael Duberry wrongly thought he was fouled in his own box and proceeded to stop the ball with his hand, lean on it for a few seconds and then carry on playing. All the while, referee Ian Brines simply accepted the player’s misunderstanding and refused to award Celtic one of the most blatant penalty kicks of all time.

Hopefully there are no such controversies tomorrow. Although, Celtic did go on to win that game 1-0 thanks to a tidy finish from Beram Kayal.
