Marian Shved has been pictured in Belgium as the Ukrainian winger closes in on a deal to return to KV Mechelen. Shved scored 5 times and assisted 4 times in 25 appearances in Belgium and is said to favour a return to the Belgian club. It is unclear as to whether the player will leave Celtic on a permanent deal or whether it will be another loan.

The winger, signed from Karpaty Lyiv, has made just three appearances for the club – scoring once. The Celtic winger was signed in January 2019 while Rodgers was at the club and loaned back to Lyiv. When he arrived that summer, Neil Lennon was in charge but Shved failed to make any impact in the time he’s had at the club. He was loaned to the Belgian side but given Lennon has now moved on, he may have fancied a crack at a Celtic Park redemption.

Although given he was absent from pre-season training, it appears that he sees his future elsewhere. Ideally, Celtic could recoup the fee from Mechelen and look to signing capable reinforcements.
