Three points is the most important thing, but a good performance wouldn’t go amiss either…

Celtic fans this morning headed to Fir Park for a high noon showdown with Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership, with the Champions trailing theRangers by five points after they predictably enough defeated Hearts 5-0 yesterday afternoon at Ibrox.

To say it’s a must win game for Celtic today is an understatement, as if we fail to get anything other than the three points then we can very probably kiss our title hopes goodbye.

It doesn’t matter how we get those three points, it could be a scrappy game won by a flukey own goal, I don’t care as long as we grind out a victory, but a decent performance wouldn’t go amiss either if truth be told.

We’ve been rather poor lately in terms of performances and attitude, we need to go out on that decent Fir park surface and prove a point not just to ourselves but also our rivals.

We have the talent that’s not in question, but they’ve got to go out there and prove it on the park. We’ve got to add that old spark and fluency back to our play. Something we’ve only done on a few occasions this campaign.

The supporters as usual will travel to Fir Park in large numbers to back the team. The players have got to pay back that support with a decent showing and result on the pitch. Anything less and we can kiss goodbye to any hopes we have of winning the title.
