Reo Hatate has been sublime out on the football pitch of late for Celtic and manager Ange Postecoglou has been signing the Japanese midfielder’s praises ahead of our Scottish Premiership clash with St Mirren on Sunday afternoon in Paisley.
The small but hugely talented central midfield player has come into his own in a Celtic jersey this past while under Postecoglou’s influence – as have a number of his teammates at Parkhead. With our first domestic trophy of the season scooped up and in the bag, following a magnificent 2-1 victory over theRangers at Hampden Park last Sunday, we look ominous presently.
A lot of that ferocity has come from the midfield area; with Hatate, McGregor and Aaron Mooy all on song recently. However, Hatate is fast proving to be the pick of the bunch and one man who is the first name on the lips of supporters and pundits alike, when they are asked who Ange Postecoglou’s best signing has been for the Hoops.
His vision and passing are exceptional and the way he handles the ball at close quarters is equally as sumptuous when he’s in the midst of battle for the club. Despite being a contender for the Player of the Year already, along with a couple of other Celts, the boss has insisted that Reo is sensational at this current moment in time, but can still hit a couple of more levels for the Bhoys.
Having earlier today won Player of the Month for February, the manager said to Sky Sports Scotland of Hatate: “He’s just gone to another level and I certainly believe there is another couple of levels in him.” It’s a message that Celtic supporters the world over will be eager to hear as we look to claim yet another Treble this season and make an impact on the European stage moving forward.
