There will always be a positive feeling among the fans when a youngster looks like they might break through, especially if they’ve been with the club since they were very young.
Owen Moffat is a promising midfielder who plays with the reserves and the development squads at this point, but he looks talented and clearly the club also think he could have a big future.

He’s announced on Twitter that he’s just signed a new contract to extend his stay with Celtic, and incredibly the 18 year old will now be starting his 12th year at the club:

It will be interesting to see what this season has in store for him – he’s now at that age where senior football might be the best thing for his development.
When we consider that plenty of teams in Scotland will be struggling financially just now, that means the loan market will be more important than ever for some clubs.
It would be great to see him get a chance to go somewhere and show what he can do, but it might take a few months for that to happen.
