TalkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan has revealed that he believes Ange Postecoglou and his Tottenham Hotspur side could surprise a few people this season. It comes after many have dismissed the notion that the former Celtic boss can do anything with the English Premier League side following the loss of England star, Harry Kane.
Many were extremely sceptical when Spurs went after Postecoglou for the job in North London and several pundits have doomed the Greek-Aussie to a tenure of doom and failure. Glenn Hoddle was one of the people to criticise the Asian Cup-winning manager for the way he plays the game and sets his teams up, which you can read all about right here on The Celtic Star.
Despite this though, outspoken pundit, Jordan, reckons that deep down Postecoglou will be “moderately relaxed” about the departure of last season’s top goalscorer, citing that the now Bayern Munich striker did not fit the mould of how Ange likes to play. It was the same kind of scenario when Postecoglou took over at Celtic Park and had Odsonne Edouard who was angling for a move away.
We all know how that one turned out…
There’s no doubting that Ange can mould a team down in the Premier League at Tottenham just like he did at Paradise on very short notice. The same questions where asked continually about Ange’s Celtic team during his first season in the Scottish Premiership, but he soon went on to prove the doubters wrong and I think Jordan has a point about the Kane saga.
Our former boss will relish the challenge.
