Q&A: Joe Hart answers Celtic fan’s questions…

Joe Hart spoke to Celtic’s official Instagram with a Q and A session yesterday ahead of the crunch clash against Bayer Leverkusen tonight – here is what he had to say…

What inspired you to join Celtic?

Loads of things inspired me to join Celtic. One of the main ones that they actually wanted me. Other than that, the tradition of the club, the size of the club, history, the passion of the manager, and the passion of the goalkeeping coach.

Who were your favourite goalkeepers growing up?

My favourite goalkeepers growing up were Peter Schmeichel and David Seaman. They were both dominant at the time, Seaman was England’s number one and playing well for Arsenal whilst Schmeichel was just unbelievable, wasn’t he!

Shampoo or conditioner? You can only choose one for the rest of your life!

I don’t think I’m going to need to make a decision for the rest of my life the way that things are going!

Bring back one musician for a one-off gig – who are you bringing back?

I’m not bringing back a musician, I’m bringing back a band. I’m getting the brothers back together in Oasis. I love all the documentaries and stuff that are on about them at the moment and it would be an absolute dream to see them perform again.

You have inspired me to be a goalkeeper. Is there any tips you can give me?

Going to give the same advice that I have done for a few years with this question. The only answer is to play in goal because you love it. This is the only way you can enjoy it and the only way you can get better. It takes a special mindset to want to do that.

Favourite European fixture you’ve played in?

Ultimately it was playing in the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid away. We came close, but not close enough and that is the closest I’ve come to glory in the competition but it was probably one I enjoyed the most.

What is the single best piece of advice you’ve received in your career?

Something that I live by when I’m playing my football: you have to do things because you love it. I’m at that age. I play football because I love it and I want to improve every day and get the most out of what I have been given.

You’re one of our own and a true leader, does Paradise feel like home?

I certainly feel very welcome. I’m really enjoying playing at the stadium, we’ve had some positive results so far and I want that to continue. I’ve been made to feel very welcome so thank you and I want to continue doing well.
