Queen’s Park look set to sign Celtic’s Ben McPherson on a long deal. Celtic are keen to get the talented youngster some first-team experience and the move to the club based at Lesser Hampden would certainly be an appealing prospect for the player.

According to The Daily Record, Queen’s Park are moving quickly to seal a deal and the 19-year-old could be involved at the weekend with The Spiders hosting Arbroath.

Brendan Rodgers was clearly a fan of the player in training and rewarded him with minutes in Japan and then in Dublin. However, the Irishman will be realistic with regards to the options of game time that the Scottish U21s Internationalist has at present and game time will be an important factor in determining whether he can breakthrough at Celtic.

Alistair Johnston has resumed training on the grass as he looks to get himself back fit, probably for the Rangers game, while Tony Ralston and Tomoki Iwata have been used in the most recent outings in the Hoops.

Elsewhere, Ben Summers looks like he is set to move to the Championship as well but the winger looks to be joining James McPake at Dunfermline. Both players will hope that their exposure to first team football will enable them to breakthrough at Celtic under Brendan Rodgers.
