CELTIC TWITTER has been an unhappy place over the past few weeks as the team has struggled to get into top gear. The results have been better than the performances and the manager, captain and many of the players, most notably Gregg Taylor, have come in for some stick. So after what was a fine performance today in the 3-0 win over Hibs at Celtic Park we thought we’d jump into Twitter and compile a snap-shot of what was showing on our timeline shortly after the final whistle. Here goes…
First the injury news. “Ajeti: hamstring, Lennon says it might be a few weeks for him. Christie: sore, stomach issue but should be fine,” yahmpy reports after watching Celtic TV. Neil Lennon just updated the club’s channel as follows: “I think it looks like a hamstring for Albian so it could be a couple of weeks for him,” On Ryan Christie: “He was winded and he felt a little bit sore on the stomach. We’ll have to wait and see. I think he’ll be fine for Thursday.”
“Best performance of the season in my opinion, especially 2nd half. David Turnbull has looked very good always looking to go forward. Also think Scott Brown had his best game of the season too,” Liam Kelly (of this parish) said.
“Excellent performance from Celtic against a decent Hibernian. Some outstanding performances but what a performance from the mighty Frimpong who did enough to win two MOTM awards,” Celtic Gossip noted.
“Impressed by Turnbull today, terrific attitude. Did it rub off on some of the others?” Highland Paddy asked.
“Very happy with that performance. Frimpong phenomenal. Brown back to his old self. Turnbull looks the real deal. Taylor put in a great shift. Bitton solid. Callum brilliant as per. I could go on. This is more like it Celtic. Onwards and upwards,” Georgina reflected.
“Fantastic performance against a good Hibs team. Creative, confident, always in control. Turnbull excellent, the best Broony of the season and McGregor on top form. No doubt as to our MOTM, Jeremie Frimpong,” Celticalicante stated.
“Great performance from the Bhoys, Made a decent Hibs side look average, Frimpong excellent, Turnbull class when he came on, Brown much better today. Probably our best performance of the season, hope Ajeti’s injury isn’t too bad,” Celtic1967.com concluded.
“A lot of the time when players come from other Scottish clubs they take a bit of time to settle, try to do the simple things etc… Turnbull just looks like a player who knows he should be playing at this level for us. Love to see it,” Hoidy noted.
“So the ‘disastrous’ campaign continues. Only 7 wins from 8, 22 points from 24, our best start since the invincible season with 23 goals scored and a whopping 5 conceded. We’ll be some team when we learn to break the opposition down and hit some consistency.” Once-a-Timblog stated.
