CELTIC supporters have been reacting to the news that UEFA have charged Celtic over illicit banners and chants at the Europa League match with Lazio at Celtic Park last Thursday night.
On the popular fans forum Celtic Noise, the week-known poster The Shamrock said: “If UEFA think they’ve done a good thing then God help us all. Dark times ahead.”
Kelly was annoyed about the likely fine for chants. “Fined for chanting, what next fined for turning up ,the control freaks at UEFAhave found a good income stream with these fines, a corrupt shower.”
The BBC’s Football Correspondent Chris McLaughlin has clarified the exact banner that UEFA are complaining about. “Celtic charged by UEFA for ‘illicit chants’ and an ‘illicit banner.’ Relates to Europa League match via Lazio where some fans displayed banner of former Italian wartime leader, Benito Mussolini hanging upside down. Lazio also charged for fan chanting.”
