Read Elena Sadiku’s classy letter to a Celtic supporter

Elena Sadiku yesterday sent this letter to a Celtic supporter who contracted the Celtic FC Women manager after attending Celtic Park on Sunday afternoon to enjoy the SWPL1 match between Celtic and Hearts, which our Ghirls won 5-0 to stay top of the table.

Here’s what Elena had to say in her reply to Celtic supporter John…

Hi John,

No doubt this message finds you in a good mood this Monday following our 5-0 victory against Hearts at Celtic Park yesterday.

I would like to personally thank you for taking the time to come to the stadium to get behind the Ghirls. Your amazing support was crucial in driving the team forward, fuelling our performance with your noise and passion.

I know the team really appreciated seeing you all in a sea of green and white, it truly inspired a fantastic performance – so give yourself a pat on the back!

As we prepare for the Scottish Cup semi-final against Rangers this Saturday at Hampden, I encourage you all to bring the noise once again. I have absolutely no hesitation that we can create an atmosphere that can help propel us towards our third consecutive Scottish Cup Final.

As we enter the business end of the season, with only five SPWL games to go, your commitment to the team will be as important as ever.

With your backing, we embrace the challenge presented by the remaining fixtures as we attempt to bring some silverware back home to Paradise.

Your support at the Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie will be vital to our success throughout the run-in, culminating in our final day of the season at Celtic Park versus Hibernian FC on 19 May. It’s time to create history together – starting this Saturday at Hampden.

On behalf of everyone connected to the women’s team, I sincerely thank you again for your continued support.

Elena Sadiku
Head Coach, Celtic FC Women

Celtic then sent the letter out to every supporter who purchased a ticket for the game on Sunday.

ON CELTIC SHORTS…The Ghirls deserve the best and that is something that I am very happy to see,” Elena Sadiku
