Reliable source Mark Hendry has provided an update on Celtic’s transfer business. Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers spoke about the requirement of quality to first team ranks and that he wanted four players to join up in the winter window. However, there have been no signings to date.

Taking to Twitter/X, Hendry clarified that the Scottish Champions are expecting to sign Nicholas Kuhn from Rapid Vienna.

Celtic are then expected to look at bringing a left back to challenge Greg Taylor as well as a striker. These are positions that Celtic have been expected to bring in this month. Although, Hendry has clarified why there has been a delay. The club are carrying out their due diligence on potential signings, despite being offered players by agents.

It is perhaps disappointing that the club had not completed due diligence in advance of the window; however, the January window is notoriously difficult to plan for, especially with the AFCON and Asia Cup.

With Kuhn expected to be completed shortly, it would be expected that Celtic ramp up their pursuit of new targets. Rodgers wants quality and in that pursuit, the club must ensure that they get the right candidates in the door.
