BEN DAVIES is hot property this summer, the 25-year-old central defender has been the subject of interest from Celtic and AFC Bournemouth with Preston knocking back an offer from the Cherries.

The Sun has said that Davies is more likely to sign a pre-contract with Celtic than he is to depart Alex Neil’s side this summer. The left-footed defender would be free to sign a deal with the Scottish Champions in January should no new deal with Preston be agreed.

As for incomings on the south coast, Tindall is keen on Preston’s Ben Davies who is out of contract next summer.

But SunSport understands the centre-back, 25, is more likely to sign a pre-contract agreement with Celtic in January.

With 111 appearances in the Championship with Preston, Davies is likely to want a challenge in a new setting and Celtic can offer him more in terms of European football and the opportunity to compete for trophies.

Celtic will be keen to retain Kris Ajer this season amidst interest from a variety of clubs and the signing of Shane Duffy suggests that Neil Lennon could be covered in the defensive areas. Although a pre-contract could be shrewd business by the recruitment team as it means that the club save on the transfer fee.

Davies would be a good addition and his ability to play on the left of defence will be favourable should Neil Lennon look to play 3-5-2.
