Aberdeen will not move for the manager of Celtic’s European rivals Bodo-Glimt. Kjetil Knutsen will shortly be in Scotland but not hold talks over the Pittodrie vacancy but instead for the Europa Conference League Round of 32 tie against Celtic.

According to The Press & Journal, Knutsen will not be targeted to replace Stephen Glass as Dave Cormack assesses his next manager. Glass was sacked on Sunday morning after their Scottish Cup exit with a number of names suggested.

Knutsen has been an enormous success with the Arctic circle club, winning the Norwegian league twice. A move to Aberdeen is probably beneath where the talented Norwegian sees himself due to the disharmony that’s clearly on show with the Dons support.

The Norwegians are flying to Glasgow from a training camp in Alicante as they look to upset Ange Postecoglou’s highflying Celts. The visitors are currently in their pre-season after a two month lay off but the results against Jose Mourinho’s Roma prove they’ll be a tough nut to crack.

Meanwhile, Aberdeen drew with St Johnstone under interim boss & former Celt Barry Robson.
