Report – Henrik Larsson set for shock Barcelona return

HENRIK LARSSON is being tipped to return to Barcelona. Ronald Koeman has been handed the daunting task of rebuilding the Catalonian giants after they suffered the humiliating 8-2 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter final in Lisbon on Friday evening.

That thrashing brought an era to an end for Barcelona and the Dutch national team manager is the man being charged with re-inventing the club from top to bottom. Barcelona also threw away the advantage to lose the La Liga title to Real Madrid but it was the nature of the performance and the end result against the Champions League favourites that has caused the immediate action.

Koeman is going to be assisted by Alfred Schreuder but there are reports coming out of Spain this evening that suggest that the Celtic legend Henrik Larsson – who famously left Celtic after 7 glorious seasons – to sign for Barcelona and being the King of Kings, went to Paris and  won the Champions League final for them against Arsenal in 2008.

Now Ronald Koeman  appears to be looking for some more magic from the Swedish superstar and if appointed it would be a dream job for the Celtic legend who has been desperate to return to management outside of Sweden. Last year Tommy Johnston let him down at the eleventh hour which resulted in a job offer from Southend following through.

Only Henrik could go from not getting the Southend job to landing a key role in the rebuilding of Barcelona!
