SERIE A GIANTS NAPOLI have been linked with a move for Celtic’s Christopher Jullien. Whilst the majority of the summer has been dominated with links being reported of Kris Ajer’s potential move to AC Milan it appears that his defensive partner Jullien has caught the eye of Gattuso’s side.
With Koulibaly expected to leave this summer, the 27-year-old Celtic defender is high up on the list of potential replacements according to Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport.
The £7m defender has been impressive since joining from Toulouse last summer, although has struggled adjusting on artificial surfaces against big target men. It is unlikely that a move will transpire as Lille’s Gabriel appears to be the favourite for the deal with the Serie A club.
Celtic can ill-afford to sell another star after this poor start to the season – off the field more so than on the field. With two games postponed, Celtic could be 11 points behind Rangers meaning Lennon will need to get the best out of his side if they look to close the gap before the re-arranged games.
Despite a slow start to life in Glasgow, the 27-year-old created a strong relationship with the Celtic support after solid displays in defence as well as aerial threat from corners. Goals in big games like Lazio and Rangers have endeared him with the supporters. Neil Lennon will hope to sign another defender as the club looked light at the back during the draw against Killie.
