According to a report, Celtic could be without new signing for this weekend’s Premiership curtain-raiser as Moritz Jenz is now a doubt through injury. The German defender joined on loan with an option to buy from Lorient one year after Celtic’s initial interest in bringing the defender to Paradise.

According to Video Celts, Jenz is a doubt for this Sunday’s game against Aberdeen after picking up a knock in training. The club medical team will carry out checks on the defender before ascertaining whether he will be involved with the Flag Day proceedings.

Jenz made his debut against Norwich, coming on in the second half; however, it now looks as if he will miss out when it comes to Ange picking his Starting XI for the game. A potential knock would open the door up for Christopher Jullien, who fell again down the pecking order at the club with Jenz’s arrival. It would be a blow to see Jenz mniss out but hopefully, if there is any injury, it won’t be too substantial.

The manager will likely pick the same team that started the game against Norwich at the weekend. The team have been in good form through pre-season and Postecoglou appears to be pleased at the effort that they have put into preparations for the new campaign.
