Norwich City are not going to consider selling Adam Idah to Celtic until after pre-season. The Irish striker was a revelation in the second half of the season for Brendan Rodgers as his side won the league and Scottish Cup.

Now, a report from Football Scotland has revealed that Norwich are not yet willing to commit to a deal for Idah to depart.

After David Wagner was sacked following their failed promotion bid, the Canaries have hired FC Nordsjaelland manager Johannes Hoff Thorup to lead them to the top flight. The 35-year old will want to assess his squad prior to the season kicking off and that’ll likely mean Celtic face a nervous wait to see whether Idah returns.

Since arriving from Norwich to fairly muted respons, the Irishman scored nine goals and assisted once to completely change the opinion of the Celtic support. The 23-year-old has been excellent, scoring massive goals away from home.

Brendan wants to sign the player and the striker wants to return to Celtic. Although, he’s on a long term deal at Norwich and the clubs require agreement before he can sign.

Hopefully we will see the return of Idah in the summer as Celtic prepare for the new season and the challenge of retaining their trophies, regaining the League Cup and competing in Europe.
