Wolves are willing to loan Hugo Bueno out this summer as Celtic look to add the Spaniard to their ranks. Brendan Rodgers wants to bring in a left-back to compete with Greg Taylor as Celtic look to compete on all fronts and make an impact in Europe.
According to Football Insider, Wolves are willing to do a deal for Bueno that will see him given a clear path to develop. The 21-year-old has certainly caught the eye of Brendan but that too will likely mean that the Wolves hierarchy will be keen to retain him to see whether he can grow into their next top talent.
Gary O’Neil has Rayan Ait Nouri and Matt Doherty to play in that position, which would limit Bueno’s game time at Molineux next season. Bueno has made 49 appearances for the Wolverhampton outfit, scoring once, but finds himself down the pecking order under O’Neil. The player will likely fancy a crack at the Champions League and could see Celtic as the perfect club to realise his ambitions.
Celtic would likely want to have a deal that includes a built-in option to buy, as it would suit the club better than simply developing another team’s talents.
Celtic have only signed two players this window – goalkeepers Viljami Sinisalo and Kasper Schmeichel – but the manager wants reinforcements in a number of areas. Paulo Bernardo is expected to complete a return with Celtic also vying to bring Adam Idah back to the club.
Not a big fan of loan deals for ourselves in general, even though we have had some great success with them, to compensate the ones that were rank rotten in return?
However this is a potential deal that would make total sense, with the amount of moving parts currently in operation in the LB position at present imo?
We don’t know what the outcome of Taylor current contract is going to be yet?
Is Taylor even prepared to potentially play as a 2nd choice LB within our squad?
Still have Anderson and Monty waiting in the wings also, without knowing how Rodgers views there potential futures with ourselves?
Taylor the most experienced out of the 4 potential names also, yet many would be looking for an upgrade in terms of quality upon Taylor also?
To many uncertainties currently in operation regarding the situation within the LB position for my liking at present, especially with time against ourselves in getting a resolution to the situation also?
Think a loan deal would be the best option imo?
And review the position next year when it becomes clearer upon the outcome of the current situation we find ourselves in regarding the LB position imo?
Wolves have said directly they have no interest in letting him go. Why make stories up when the club themselves have said no conclusively
Taylor has done well for celtic but his height and weight us an issue he gets taken out the game when balls in the air a chip to far post has conceded to many goals for our defence Taylor is alright going forward his passing is a bit iffy but he plays against teams lowblock(sit in) so passing is hard in packed area we do need a left back with a bigger stature
