Brendan Rodgers today confirmed that Cameron Carter-Vickers will sit out tomorrow evening’s trip to Perth to take on St Johnstone in the 5.45pm kick-off…

The central defender has been carrying a tie injury in recent matches and was in pain during the Champions League win over Slovan Bratislava last midweek.  As reported on The Celtic Star earlier this week, CCV is to sit out the Scottish Premiership match in Perth and faces a race against the clock to be ready for Dortmund on Tuesday night in the Champions League match-day two.

Better news from the Celtic manager today on Alistair Johnston who has trained all week after suffering a minor injury against Slovan Bratislava and the Canadian international right back is fit an available to play at Perth.

Celtic getting a late kick-off to suit Premier Sports is amateurism from the SPFL, not a mistake that the Bundesliga are guilty of. Their teams involved in the Champions League are playing this evening to give them maximum recovery and preparation time for the midweek games in European football.
