Australian youngster Leo Mazis has announced that he has joined Italian side U.S. Triestina Calcio 1918 from Celtic. The 19-year-old Australian-Italian was allowed to leave the Scottish Champions in January following two seasons in Glasgow to trial for the Italian outfit.

Following the conclusion of the trial period, Mazis has signed a contract until June 2021 with a two years extension option in his deal. The Canberra born youngster took to Twitter to thank those at Celtic as he moves onto the next chapter of his career.

Mazis was hotly tipped as the next best thing coming out of Australia when he signed in 2018 but he has failed to live up to expectations and Celtic allowed him to leave in January.

Mazis is another of Rodgers’ signings that have been moved on since the Irishman left a year ago to Leicester with the ex manager had a patchy record when it came to player acquisitions.
