Celtic will announce the arrival of Alex Valle from Barcelona on a season-long loan deal. The 20-year-old travelled to Glasgow yesterday and the transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Barca youngster has completed a medical and has signed a deal with Celtic.

Now, taking to Twitter/X, Romano has confirmed that Celtic will unveil the left-back tomorrow.

Valle will arrive and offer competition for Greg Taylor in the left-back berth in the Celtic backline. The 20-year-old spent last season on loan with Levante in the Spanish second division but is highly rated by Barca, who signed him on a new deal before sanctioning the loan.

The deal represents the first in the final week of the transfer window but the club will want to get a number of other deals over the line, especially following Matt O’Riley’s £30m departure to Brighton. Celtic have made bids for Auston Trusty, Mateusz Bogusz and Arne Engels as the Scottish Champions look to strengthen in the final days of the transfer window. Brendan Rodgers wants to ensure that the club are adequately  equipped to challange in Europe and continue their domestic dominance.
