Former Celtic manager Ronny Deila has reportedly been interviewed for the Blackburn Rovers vacancy. The Ewood Park club are recruiting after another previous Hoops manager, Tony Mowbray, decided to leave his post at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
According to the Norwegian outlet, Nettavisen, Deila has already met with the Blackburn hierarchy as they look to tempt the player from the Big Apple to England’s North West. Everton coach Duncan Ferguson is another candidate on the shortlist but it is said that Deila is keen on a move back to European football after enjoying success with New York City.
Deila joined Celtic in 2014 as a surprise appointment from Stromsgodset.Ronny won 2 titles and 1 league cup in his time in Glasgow and played a role in the side’s push towards 9IAR. It is right that the role that he played in developing the club is widely recognised. He was put in an impossible position whereby he was only given some tools to do the job with decisions being taken from above with regards to transfers etc.
Deila lifted the MLS Cup with New York City last year and he has been properly praised for the role that he has played in bringing about success in ‘The Big Apple’ for the City Football Group outfit.

I agree with the editor living in Canada i see lots of MLS games and Ronny has improved even more since he left us and the only blip in his Celtic role was losing on penalties to sevco of which a lot of the blame for that game should have fallen on the players as they should have won the game long before extra time and penalties but didn’t seem up for it like they should have been
