Ross County striker Jordan White has admitted that the first half at Celtic Park was the most comfortable that he has had against The Hoops. However, White admitted that he was gutted that they left with nothing after goals from David Turnbull and Sead Haksabanovic overturned David Cancola’s opener from the spot.
Speaking to the Inverness Courier, White said that their manager had set them up to frustrate Ange Postecoglou’s team at Celtic Park.
“The manager put on a gameplan and we all knew what we were doing. The first half was probably the most comfortable I’ve felt at Parkhead.
“I think Kyogo had one chance, but from a defensive perspective, it was really good. Sometimes you need to ride your luck and they did have quite a few chances later on. I was just gutted – there aren’t many times you have a chance to take something at Celtic Park.
“We’ve got to take positives from that. We took Celtic almost all the way and it probably shows how far we’ve come.
“It is a sore one after performing so well, but we can build on it. We’ll have a good break and come back firing.”
The afternoon didn’t go all to plan as Malky Mackay’s side frustrated Celtic. They took the lead through David Cancola early into the second half. David Munro pointed to the spot after Matt O’Riley was adjudged to have handled the ball, Euan Anderson on VAR duty saw nothing wrong with the fact that the Dane was helpless in the situation and County scored. Goals from Turnbull and Haksabanovic turned the game on its head and Celtic recorded all three points.
