There seems to be an opinion forming amongst theRangers support that Celtic are to blame for the current Glasgow Derby away day lockout. Nothing could be further from the truth. We know our city neighbours from Ibrox like to invent things so we can maybe kind of understand, but this one is not on us, and they all know it.
Celtic supporters once upon a time enjoyed a generous away allocation on Derby Day, filling the Free Broomloan stand with around seven thousand supporters.
Now? Neto, zilch. We have seen our allocation cut to a mere 700 the last few years before the club said enough was enough after the safety of our supporters couldn’t be guaranteed.
Who can forget when Leigh Griffiths tied the Celtic scarf on the Ibrox goalpost? Who can forget Mikel Lustig pulling his top over his head after hitting a cracker to put us five one up at Ibrox?
Or French Eddy’s stunner which gave a ten men Celtic side a vital win on that Beautiful Sunday?
Broony celebrating complete with sunglasses? The entire side celebrating a win inside Ibrox? Emptying their three other stands each and every time. The joy watching them leaving early early and seeing it through the glass walls in their staircase.
Of course we will never forget them, winning at Ibrox was a great feeling and we did it on a regular basis. The problem is theRangers support couldn’t take it any more. They done what they do best and spat the dummy, and said enough is enough.
The celebrations of the Celtic supporters were too much to take and they whined about it to their club until they took action. Thus the allocation was slashed. True story. And in case you missed this yesterday…

Incidentally the details from a senior source at Celtic from the article written by The Celtic Star Editor on Thursday evening also appeared yesterday morning in one of the red-tops who claimed it as an ‘exclusive’ – eh? It was all in The Celtic Star the day before!
