The Union Bears, the so called ultras and wannabe Green Brigade caused a bit of a stir with one of their patched together dreadful Tifos yet again. The latest masterpiece in question was the one they displayed before their sides champions league play off clash with PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday night.
At first glance it looked like Freddy mercury with a funny hat, but supposedly it was an image of evil character Bill the Butcher.
I’ve given this a couple of days to see how reporting went.
Nothing in the media or from the club about it.Lyrics from The Billy Boys with a picture of the anti-Irish Catholic slasher from Gangs of New York – Bill The Butcher. pic.twitter.com/RtNRBDx8Yg

Bill was portrayed by Daniel Day Lewis in the hit film Gangs of New York. Bill was the barbaric leader of a gang who detested immigrants, namely Irish Catholics. Ah It all makes sense now.
Below the Tifo was a banner which read ‘Surrender or you’ll Die’ a verse in the banned Billy Boys anthem which follows the words ‘we’re up to our knees in fenian blood’.
That’s totally unacceptable as is the deafening silence by the SMSM. Although we shouldn’t be surprised. Remember the outrage when Celtic supporters had the nerve to display Palestinian flags in support of the nations suffering at the hands of its occupiers?
The Tifo that Rangers fans showed before their match against PSV Eindhoven at Ibrox on Tuesday: this is some of the background to it. Sectarianism and blatant anti-Irish racism remain alive and well in Scottish football. If the SFA won’t act, UEFA must. https://t.co/XvFGYdfGBA

The abhorrent atrocities in occupied countries like Palestine is something normal human beings sympathise with. The banner displayed by the Union Bears is an insult to civilised society. It’s racist and sectarian. It condones killing a race of people due to their religion. Where’s the outrage?
UEFA love handing out fines for flying the flag of other countries, banners aimed at them, and of course pyrotechnics.
Where are they today? Do they condone sectarianism? Much like their counterparts at the SFA they don’t give a damn, and it’s disgusting in this day and age. It’s time for them to act.
Just an Ordinary Bhoy
This is the most "on brand" thing I've ever seen. It's perfect. In some ways it's admirable.
This folks is the rangers brand essence. Anti- Catholicism.
The brand palette should include as much butchery, rivers of blood, hatred and violence as possible.
So this is perfect https://t.co/PsLYiZalQh

The @ScottishFA is an anti Catholic sectarian anti Irish racist organisation and here’s the proof right here. As Celtic Refuses Ibrox Tickets On Safety Grounds, UEFA Has Its Own Issue With Them. | The Celtic Blog https://t.co/nDx8tCn8kA

I am not a Catholic but as someone who has fought for an independent, tolerant, socially just Scotland all his life I condemn this: https://t.co/vZjmgid53f it's 2023 not 1690. Every decent minded Scot must utterly reject this attack on fellow Scots.

Thanks, updated now and your link added.
Scotland has a problem in admitting that the Orange Order is a sectarian organisation. In fact if anyone did try and say that they would be given the “both sides are as bad as the other” answer.
Here in Auckland I often do the daily quiz in a news service website. Last week one question was ” What is an Orange Walk?”.
4 answer options were given.
1. A Brasilian cocktail
2. A strike by citrus farmers
3. Event at Monty Python Silly Walks
4 A Sectarian March.
Could you imagine a Scottish newspaper printing that?
( by the way option 3 might be appropriate too!)
