The Union Bears, the so called ultras and wannabe Green Brigade caused a bit of a stir with one of their patched together dreadful Tifos yet again. The latest masterpiece in question was the one they displayed before their sides champions league play off clash with PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday night.

At first glance it looked like Freddy mercury with a funny hat, but supposedly it was an image of evil character Bill the Butcher.

Bill was portrayed by Daniel Day Lewis in the hit film Gangs of New York. Bill was the barbaric leader of a gang who detested immigrants, namely Irish Catholics. Ah It all makes sense now.

Below the Tifo was a banner which read ‘Surrender or you’ll Die’ a verse in the banned Billy Boys anthem which follows the words ‘we’re up to our knees in fenian blood’.

That’s totally unacceptable as is the deafening silence by the SMSM. Although we shouldn’t be surprised. Remember the outrage when Celtic supporters had the nerve to display Palestinian flags in support of the nations suffering at the hands of its occupiers?

The abhorrent atrocities in occupied countries like Palestine is something normal human beings sympathise with. The banner displayed by the Union Bears is an insult to civilised society. It’s racist and sectarian. It condones killing a race of people due to their religion. Where’s the outrage?

UEFA love handing out fines for flying the flag of other countries, banners aimed at them, and of course pyrotechnics.

Where are they today? Do they condone sectarianism? Much like their counterparts at the SFA they don’t give a damn, and it’s disgusting in this day and age. It’s time for them to act.
