Former Celtic and Motherwell star, Scott McDonald, has reacted with a stern response to the SPFL Twitter page’s birthday message.

The organisation wished the Australian a happy 37th birthday and capped the occasion with the striker’s infamous goal against Celtic on Black Sunday.

Happy Birthday @ScottyMcD83! 🥳

However, the page got a shock when McDonald reacted angrily to the post…

The SPFL Twitter account then tried to make amends with a new upload:

McDonald acted professionally, as one would expect, despite Celtic being his boyhood team. Nevertheless, he doesn’t enjoy the fact that he stole the title away from the Hoops that afternoon and prefers to look back at a number of other goals during his time at Motherwell and the Celts.

Currently playing for Brisbane Roar, McDonald won a league title and League Cup trophy with the Bhoys before rejoining Gordon Strachan when he signed for Middlesbrough.
