Scott McKenna rumour, Harry Souttar will be the next

With the departure of Carl Starfelt imminent another new face at the back will be required, with Brendan himself admitting so and saying a new face will be on the agenda to replace the Sweden international defender.

That has started the rumour mill flowing and many names are now getting banded about, with one name in particular being mentioned on more on a few occasions and that is Scott McKenna.

The Nottingham Forest and Scotland man and former Aberdeen player was a player who interested Brendan in his first spell at Celtic and was rumoured to have put in a bid, but the club were put off by the Dons valuation of the player.

He eventually signed for Nottingham Forest and has done reasonably well for the club and done his part keeping them in the EPL last season.

Scott is a strong physical player and he is also left footed, could be be the player to bring stability to our back line and replace Carl Starfelt? He would also have improved during his stay in England, but whether Brendan is interested remains to be seen.

Another player who will duly be linked to us is Harry Souttar. Brother of the Rangers defender John. Harry is an Australian international and stands at a massive 6 feet 6 inches.

He had an impressive World Cup with Australia and duly signed for Leicester in a £15 million deal the month after the finals. He was signed by none other than Brendan Rodgers, so you know he’s going to be immediately linked. He has not featured for Leicester pre-season and is thought to be surplus to requirements at the championship side.

Just like Scott McKenna thought it remains to be seen if any deal comes to fruition.
