Scottish Cup Holders, on the Road to Hampden – Boroughmuir Thistle v Celtic

After great results yesterday afternoon for Celtic in the Scottish Cup at Celtic Park against St Mirren (5-1) and also the Celtic B Team getting a vital and impressive away win against Bo’Ness in the Lowland League (3-0), it’s the turn of Fran Alonso’s Celtic FC Women side to make it three from three this afternoon (kick-off time is 12 noon) in the Scottish Cup fifth round tie against Boroughmuir Thistle at Meadowbank Sport Centre in Edinburgh.

Celtic of course are the Scottish Cup holders and will be looking to retain the trophy with the added incentive being that the final this year will be at Hampden. There’s been no media conferences from the women’s team over the past few matches so no early team news to bring you, although we’ll should get the line-ups shortly.

Here’s Fran Alonso talking to Celtic TV on Friday looking ahead to the next round of the Scottish Cup defence after that win against Falkirk last month. Might be a day to see more of our January signings and if there are a few early goals then the Ghirls could go onto outscore the Bhoys who got five against St Mirren.
