FOLLOWING the €4.5million signing of Greek international keeper Vasilis Barkas from AEK Athens, Celtic this morning announced that young Celtic goalkeeper Ross Doohan has completed his loan move to Ross County for the coming season.

22 year old Doohan impressed when he played in goals against Celtic as a trialist in the bounce match at Parkhead last Sunday and the loan move was pending the completion of Celtic bringing in a new keeper.

So Barkas’ arrival means that Doohan can go out on loan and gain valuable first team football to help his development.

“We know him well as a goalkeeper,” Ross County boss Stuart Kettlewell told BBC Scotland last weekend. “We’ve seen what he’s done out on loan at Ayr. Ross has been top of the list for us for a period of time.”

Ross County boss Stuart Kettlewell has also confirmed he has finally been given the green light to complete the signing of Celtic goalkeeper Ross Doohan. “The agreement is there in principle. Ross is travelling up just now for a medical and I’d be pretty confident we’d have him on the training pitch tomorrow.

“It’s been a slight frustration as we’d liked to have got him in before and I’m sure Celtic will tell you they’d like to have had business done a couple of weeks earlier too.

“It’s just been one of those domino chains where we knew once Celtic got a new goalkeeper in, Ross would come up to us.

“We’ve been patient because it’s important we give ourselves good options in every area,” Kettlewell stated to the PA News Agency as reported by Evening Express.

Good luck Ross and a few shut-outs against you know who will mean you can play your part in the Ten-in-a-Row campaign!
