Odsonne Edouard showed nerves of steel to step up and score an injury time penalty to make it ten goals in five games for the French U21 team.

The Celtic striker made it 3-2 in the 92nd minute versus Georgia as the 21-year-old continued to shine on the International stage.

Edouard is in danger of alerting top clubs onto his form which is worrying for us supporters but a mark of the top quality player that we have on our hands.

However, the striker is in contention to miss some of Celtic’s crucial European qualifiers next summer if he fulfils his dream of representing France at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Edouard emphasised his desire to compete for France and believes that the Olympics could be the stage for the hitman to show Didier Deschamps his worth, as reported in The Scottish Sun.

“It’s a very important competition, one that every sportsman dreams of participating in.

“I have waited a long time to be called up by France at this level and I am keen to do well so I make an impression.”
