Leicester City believe that they have won the race to sign Celtic’s talisman, Odsonne Edouard according to The Daily Mail. The player has scored 83 goals for Celtic since arriving from PSG, initially on loan, before sealing a £9m move to join Brendan Rodgers’ team.

The £15m fee appears ridiculously low for Celtic’s best player, especially considering some of the inflated fees on offer in England. Celtic will hope to take a sizeable sell-on fee for the Frenchman.

After last season’s scintillating form, Edouard has been linked with a multi-million move from the club since the summer. However, now we have been given the clearest indication that the 23-year-old is planning for his future by joining Stellar Sports.

There appears to be an air of inevitability that the player will leave the club, he will be looking to play in The Champions League and a move to Leicester would probably be ideal for the striker given Rodgers is there as well as the likelihood of them playing in The Champions League as well as competing in The Premier League.

Rodgers meanwhile is flying high with Leicester, two years after he left the club. Supporters are understanding, in part, why he decided to walk away as the footballing operations at the club were highlighted as being inadequate to support the modern game in Rodgers’ image.
