Here’s the Unique Ange from Hampden as two goals from Kyogo turned around the League Cup Fina, equalising before their celebratory flares had burned out and then scoring a glorious Larssonesque winner to bring the League Cup back to Celtic Park for the 20th time.

Speaking about Kyogo after the game – and remember when Ange arrived at Celtic the player he wanted to join him in Glasgow from the J-League was Kyogo, shades of Wim Jansen in the summer of 1997 there when we brought over Henrik from Feyenoord for just £650,000 – the Celtic manager described the Kyogo and Celtic thing as a match made in heaven.

There’s not been a player since Henrik who excites the Celtic Support quite like Kyogo.

“This football club and him were a match made in heaven,” Ange told the media, post match, as reported by Scottish Sun. “He’s a fantastic player but what a person, he just had it in his mind he was going to play. We were kind of thinking it wouldn’t happen but he just made himself available, even though he’s not one hundred perfect.

“I don’t know how he did it, but he’s a quality player and a quality person. It’s not just with him, it’s with all of them – especially the ones I have brought in because I have to take responsibility for them.

“Kyogo I have brought from the other side of the world and you just want them to do well. They put so much into it, like I keep saying to them – if you put the right things in and work hard you will get your returns.”
