Ryan Christie has had an indifferent season as Celtic have faltered. Despite becoming a national hero with a goal against Serbia for Scotland, Christie hasn’t been at his best for Celtic as he looks to seal a Premier League move.
However, the 25-year-old has liked a social media post of a new Rangers signing. Scott Wright joined Rangers on deadline day and celebrated signing for Steven Gerrard’s side with a post saying that he can’t wait to get started. Along with the Rangers first team interacting with the signing of the ex-Aberdeen winger, Ryan Christie has liked it.
Players are allowed to have private lives of course but when you are part of a side that are going to win 10IAR, any interaction with a rival will be scorned upon. Christie appears angling for a move away from the club, which is fine if he wants to test himself elsewhere. Although this latest blunder shows a lack of self awareness, especially with the news being filled with the fact that if neither Celtic nor Rangers drop any points, they can win the league on March 21.
The players have come under immense criticism this season for their failings; however, the club need to hold their hands up and accept that they may have mismanaged the campaign at times. Players should be briefed against doing anything that may have an adverse reaction with the support and this, unfortunately is one of those occasions. Christie will have had little or no malice in his actions, he is supporting an ex-team mate but the fact that Rangers are so far ahead, it doesn’t look good.
If he scores a few at the weekend, it will rectify this mistake but in future, he should keep his support for our rivals private.
What does he think he is doing? What are the Celtic fans saying about him? They will want him out now…..
